Four Days in Positano

Hi, my wife and I will be in Positano for four full days in October and were looking for suggestions on what we should do.

Thanks,
Eric

Just out of curiosity, how did you decide to spend 4 days in a small town on the Amalfi coast without first planning what you would do when you were there?

Hike up to Montepertuso, take the bus to Amalfi and ferry back. Take a day trip to Capri.

Drink lemoncello.

Hi Mike, there are a ton of things I want to do on the Amalfi Coast, but I would love to hear what others think are the most important/fun/interesting.

Is that alright with you???

Take a boat to Amalfi town & catch the local bus up to Ravello. Wander around Ravello & see the sights. Makes for a great day.

Take a boat to Capri and hike up (it's all paved) to the Villa Jovis, the residence of the Emperor Tiberius. Makes for another great day.

Eric - I just returned from The area last month - I am Italian and slightly prejudiced BUT - I know you'll love the area. The spots not to miss - Sorrento, Amalfi, Capri. The Limoncello area in Sorrento is Villa Massa , with over 16,000 lemon trees and the world's largest producer.
Hydrofoils and The Sita bus will get you where you need to go and will be exciting.

Ciao, Greg

I wouldn't miss having a romantic and wonderful dinner at Da Vincenzo in Positano. Preferred the outside seating and had the best spaghetti alle vongole ever.

Another unforgettable experience was renting a scooter and zipping to Sorrento for lunch on the waterfront. It was a 2-day rental, so the next day we went to Amalfi. We wandered around the town, had lunch and a few very-cold limoncellos and then walked up the hill to the Museum of Paper where I purchased 2 beautiful hand-made leather photo albums.

We went in the Summer (very hot), but enjoyed renting a little boat with a powerful engine. I think that in October you will still get some good weather. We were able to stop at a couple of small and spectacular beaches for swimming. My favorite stop: Praiano.

Wish I had had time to visit Capri & regretted missing Ravello.

Our Amalfi Coast trip has been one of my favorite European stops. Hope you and your wife have a memorable time there.
