Four Days, Amalfi Coast...HELP!!

So my family (4 people) is going to be in the Amalfi Coat for four days in July. We will be staying in Positano. We are coming down from Rome early on the first day, and we are planning to visit Pompeii on that day. I have been to Pompeii before, so that is a must go place for my family, because I know how incredible it is. We will probably get to Positano in the late afternoon that day, and we will have three more days to spend. (Maybe 3 and a half) The only thing I know I really want to do is go to the Blue Grotto. Any recommendations on what to do while in Positano/Amalfi area? I really have no idea what we will do during these days. Oh yea... we will have a rental car (yikes)

Well, park the rental car ASAP. Use the SITA buses or the ferries to visit the towns along the Amalfi coast. We had a great time just walking up the road from Positano to the towns above. The views are incredible. Look up Montepertuso.

Ravello is one of my favourite small hilltop towns along the Amalfi coast. while there be sure to visit Villa Ruffolo for some incredible views from its gardens. there's also a nice walk(some might call it a light hike) through a somewhat residential neighbourhood with a nice hotel along the way where you can stop for a bite on its outdoor terrace (can't remember the name, but you can't miss it) Buon viaggio!

Yes, park your your car and enjoy not having to drive it again until you leave, hopefully your Positano hotel can facilitate parking it.

You must visit Amalfi proper. Park at the far end of town, it is not cheap. You can also catch a bus from Positano. Depending upon you energy levels, you can walk up from the water and continue to the paper museum. Beyond this continue up the walk ways and follow the trails. Bring water bottles as it will be hot in July.
While in Amalfi , walk to the next town down through the tunnel. Atrani is a 100 yards away. Nice town for dinner and browsing. The beach areas are numerous all over.

Blue grotto is just ok, you gotta like sitting in a boat while diesel fumes abound while waiting for your chance to go in while the temperatures are in the 90's.

Catch he ferry to Capri.

Ravello up on top of the hill is a definite must see.

And non dementicare, Sorrento e bella .

Depending on what you're looking to do, Ravello is very quiet, peaceful and the view is breathtaking! If you're looking for a little more fast pace, then Sorrento is definitely worth the time. You can take the ferry from Positano to Sorrento. Since you're going to the Blue Grotto, you should do a day in Capri which I found much more worth the time then Amalfi.
