Hi, Everytime I look at the webcams of Piazza Navona or Spanish steps, I see the fountains are not going. Is there a reason why? Do they only go at certain times?

The fountain in Piazza Navona was functioning last Sunday. The selfie stick crowd had it encircled taking those incredible head shots we all love.

I was at both Monday afternoon. The Piazza Navona fountains were functioning. They were working on the one at the Spanish Steps. The Piazza Navona fountains were also functioning when I saw them Monday night and Sunday afternoon.

I don't think it's possible to tell from a webcam whether those fountains are operating or not: the lenses are not close enough to pick up that sort of detail. Take a look at some close-up stills to see what I'm talking about? The streams are neither high nor powerful enough to be clearly evident from a distance.

Trevi fountain under repair as of yesterday. Sinking Boat at Spanish Steps also down for the count.
And how obnoxious are those damn selfie sticks anyway???

Trevi has been under restoration for quite some time but is supposed to be done end of the month. They have scheduled an inaugural ceremony for the finished restoration on November 3rd.
