Forum and Palatine Hill Tour

We are wanting to do the Coliseum night tour and a separate tour on another day of the Forum and Palatine Hill. I have not been able to find any tours for them that do not include the Coliseum. If anyone has links to tours for those two sites combined could you please share. Thanks.

Years ago we took a private tour of the Forum and Palatine Hill with a knowledgeable and engaging Archeologist. He was on the staff at that time with Jewish Roma. www.jewishroma.com This may still be an option.

Get a private guide to create the itinerary you want. Surprisingly affordable. Contact Sonia Tavoletta at [email protected] for her ideas. We’ve used and recommended her several times to much happiness all around.

Just to let you know, we did a tour of the Colosseum, then the next day (following the self-guided Tour described in Rick Steves’ guidebook), saw the Palatine Hill area and the Forum. We did them in that order, starting higher on Palatine Hill, and working our way downhill, to the Forum. There was a “side” entrance to the Palatine Hill on the southeast side with no crowd, and zero delay getting in.

Thanks for the ideas. I will have to do some more research and see what will work the best for us.

OP, noticed you are planning the Colosseum night tour. We had 4 tours while in Italy this past summer, including a Colosseum night tour. That night tour was the only disappointment: we left the tour early, as did 4 other people. (Of course everyone is different, and many people enjoy the tour.) I posted our experience on Rick Steves forum: https://community.ricksteves.com/travel-forum/italy/vip-colosseum-at-night-tour-by-the-roman-guy-a-great-disappointment
