Fortezza Verrucole Archeopark - has anyone been?

Very interested in checking out the Fortezza Verrucole Archeopark in Garfagnana, Lucca region. Any fellow history nerds been there? Is it worth a day trip? My first impressions were looks like Pennsic in PA, only in a real place with truly authentic reenactors. I'm hoping anyway. Let me know your thoughts.

I've considered it several times as we visit Lunigiana yearly, but I could never muster the enthusiasm to drive 90 minutes from La Spezia ( 60 minutes from Lucca) over the curvy mountains roads. Google Maps has 7,000+ photos of Verrucole and after the first 30 one starts to get the feeling there are no more surprises. I can say for sure there will not be an impressive reenactment unless there's an anniversary of a major historical event as the fort is just too far from major population centers.
You might search for reenactments (rievocazioni) on a site like these https://www.rievocazioni.net/calendario-rievocazioni-storiche.html and http://www.rievocare.it/

Thanks for responding and confirming we're not alone in our hesitancy to waste a day. We were more hopeful rather than expectant that it would actually be as awesome as it sounds, but someday might still give it a go. It's a shame because it really does look like a nice, authentic experience and not at all commercial, but I guess with less people paying to come, there's also less enthusiasm. For now it can just live on in my mind as a wondrous place that exists! Thanks for the website too, we're browsing that now.
