We will be spending 5 weeks in Lucca this summer and plan take a few day trips to the beach, we’ve heard great things about Forte Dei Marmi (and it’s only a 30 minute drive away!) but don’t know anything about the beach clubs. If anyone has any advice or tips that would be most appreciated.
Also, looking for a bagni that has daily rentals. Many seem private for members only or a weekly rental. We’re a family of 8 with young kids and grandparents.

I think all Bagni should have daily rentals. It’s not the cheapest town on the Versilia coast, but unless you go between the last weekend of July and the weekend around the 15th of August holiday (Ferragosto, also the Assumption of the Virgin Mary), you should be able to find a spot.
The beach in Forte dei Marmi has the same sand and water as the rest of the Versilia coast. For a first bagno experience I'd choose Lido di Camaiore contiguously north of Viareggio. It has a more relaxed and yet affordable feeling with all the same services. To experience Forte dei Marmi, go for the shops and people watching, especially on a Sunday morning when the open air market adds to the atmosphere.
