Food tours in Rome

We’re arriving a day early before our Heart of Italy Tour.
My husband and I thought we’d do a food tour.
Anyone have any recommendations?
We will be staying close to the Vatican’s Museum.
Thank you!

The Eating Italy site referenced above is a great tour company. We really enjoyed the Testaccio tour; great food stops and a look at an area that's off the tourist grid. Trastevere would also be fun. They're popular tours. so book soon. The price may seem high, but it's a fun walking tour interspersed with a staggering amount of food! We needed a doggie bag near the end!

I concur with the recommendation for the Testaccio Eating Italy food tour. We also did an "Eat With" dinner when we were in Rome in September and it was not nearly as enjoyable. We have recommended the tour to others and they also enjoyed the tours, both in Rome and Florence.

Agreeing with posts above. Have participated in two food tours with this company, both outstanding. Lots of food and drink along with a comprehensive tour of the part of the city each tour covered. Also lots of fun!

We did Eating Italy’s evening tours of Testaccio and Trastevere. Both were fun, educational and delicious.

We did a food walking tour in Trastevere while on the RS 7 Days in Rome tour this past March. Terrific fun with guides from EatingItaly. We were divided into 2 groups of 12. Really saw the neighborhood up close and enjoyed the shopkeepers and learned their stories and background.

I took the small group Trastevere food tour (starts in Campo di Fiori) with theromanguy.com (recommended in the RS book) run together with theromanfoodie.com. It was excellent, both the food and the guide. Book with theromanguy.com and get an RS discount.
