Food tours?

We are looking to book a food tour while visiting Rome for the first time in mid September. We are wondering if anyone has had experience with either the Eating Italy or Roman Guy Trastevere Local Food Tours? Is it worth it? Highlights and lessons learned? A preference for one company over the other?

Thank you in advance.

Best,
MA

We did two with Eating Italy. One was the Sunday tour the other Trastevere. Enjoyed them both very much. Felt we more than got our moneys worth in terms of fun, learning and, of course, food.

We did the Eating Italy Sunday Tour in May, eating our way through six courses in the Jewish Ghetto. Eric was a great guide, there were eight of us on the tour. It was fun, informative and the food was very good. I highly recommend it.

I’ve been on several Eating Italy tours and found them all to be pretty good. The Twilight Trastavere was the best of them. The guides are really good and dedicated to making sure you have a enjoyable and informative experience. I think they’re a great value. You get plenty of food, and it’s not that crazily more expensive than some straight up walking tours.

Book this for the beginning of your trip. They give a good primer and tips on the local food that you can apply for the rest of your stay.
