Food and Wine Tours

So I was watching Rick Steves videos on Italy on youtube and of course food tours came up. We will be spending time in Naples, Positano, Rome, Cinque Terre, Florence, and Venice. I'm sure they all have great food tours, and as much as I would love to sample one at each of these places, our wallet wouldn't be able to handle it! Any suggestions for 1 or 2? We do have a dinner and wine tour in the Chianti area when we are in Florence.

How about restaurants? As Steve suggested, we will walk out of the major tourist attraction area to find meals, but does anyone have favorite restaurant suggestions in the cities that we will be visiting?

Loved the food tours in Rome by Eating Italy. My personal favorite was Testaccio, although I also enjoyed the Trastevere tour. Monti area not so much.

As far as restaurants, I loved the pizza at Don Fefe Pizza and Grill in Florence. I also had great eggplant parm at Angiolino’s in Florence.

The 2 places I enjoyed in Rome were Vecchia Roma and Tempio Di Mecenate ( where I had an amazing vegetable soup).

Good luck and have fun on your trip!

Alessandro is in Rick’s book for a cicetti tour of Venice. He is so much fun and a great value. Highly recommend him!

Thanks, Christine! I just booked the twilight Trastavere food tour through Eating Italy and got the 10% discount with the code you shared. Looking forward to it!

Has anyone been to Trattoria dal Billy in Manarola? Apparently our B&B is literally next door to dal Billy and I've been reading excellent reviews!
