I get an ego boost from that article, Ken, 'cos all five of the airports mentioned (as getting good precaution grades) have been used by me, yay.

Excellent job FCO!
It is one of my favorite airports so happy to read about their COVID Procedures.

I cannot wait to visit Rome again.

The excitement of boarding the plane...getting tucked into the seat and seat-belted...listening to and watching the flight attendants go through their safety procedures routine... listening to the captain's overhead announcements - waiting for him or her to say to the crew "prepare the cabin"... taxiing on the runway...the captain announcing where our place in line is...

All of a sudden you feel the plane start rumbling on the ground - thrilling, speed is increased and suddenly you are in the air... saying a silent thank you to God for a good takeoff...

Realizing in about 7 hours you will be at Heathrow... laying over and waiting for your connection to Italy...

Ahh, yes, cannot wait to get back to traveling!

Is Covid testing being used to screen people upon arrival?

Still hoping to travel to Italy in May 2021. 😉

That is great news and I am so proud of Italy on many fronts in this battle. Now if only Americans could leave the US...

Only visitors from certain countries get tested at FCO. I think they're Croatia, Romana, Greece and Spain, but I haven't checked lately.

I arrived from the U.S. a few weeks ago and had to fill out a form at FCO, after having done so in New York, stating where I'll quarantine and promising to contact the local health authorities. Usually the passport check for Italian citizens is cursory and, more recently, we just scan our passports. But this time the agent did a mini-interview, made sure I understood the quarantine requirement. He also stressed that I needed private transportation to get where I was quarantining.

In general, it was pleasant and quick. Italian airport people tend to be more soft-spoken and polite than the overburdened and underpaid TSA workers in the U.S. Plus, I got my bag quickly because the plane was maybe 1/4 full.
