Flying into Rome and needing to be in Sorrento on the same day.

We will be arriving in Rome on Sept. 9 and need to be in Sorrento the same day. What would be the best way to get to Sorrento? Thanks Ron...

Is there any way you can change the flight to arrive in Naples? Also, what time are you scheduled to arrive in Rome?

Micheal is right see if you can change to naples. Talk with a superviser with the airlines and ask nicely if they can reduce the flight change fees. It would be cheaper and less stressful if you could change it. What airline are you on?

We are flying American ou of Chicago. We will arrive in Rome at 9:15 AM. I do not know how I would go about taking a flight to Naples. Would I have to buy a ticket in Rome? Thanks everyone Ron.....

Ron,
I think people are suggesting you fly to Naples instead of Rome. If you can do that, it would be simpler to get to Sorrento. It's still not difficult to get there from Rome-- it's just that after a long transatlantic flight, you might not want to spend the extra time getting from Rome to Sorrento. If you get in at 9 a.m., you'll have no problem getting to Sorrento that day. Have a great trip.
Ciao,
Meredith

Ron, Check Mobissimo.com. You can buy a separate ticket from FCO to NAP for about $73. Leave enough time for delays and getting your luggage. I have done this-you can then take a bus from the Naples airport to Sorrento(Curreri bus)-buy tickets on board-very easy.

We just did this Ron...
Book a separate flight into Naples later that same day..
Take the bus outside of the terminal in Naples to Sorrento.
It's only 10 Euro each.
They drop you at the train station in Sorrento, and then either walk to hotel ot take a cab..

I think American only flies into Milan and Rome. Fly into Rome and take the Metro to the Termini Station. From there, take the high-speed Eurostar Italia (ES or ES-A)to Naples where you will get on the Circumvesuviana train to Sorrento. Doable depending on the time of day that you are arriving.
