Flying into northern Italy

Hello everyone! I am traveling to Northern Italy in May...3 weeks generally in the Florence-Venice-Milan triangle, with train and car excursions occasionally northward perhaps as far as Munich. I live in California, and it seems that lots of flights into or out of Venice route us through London, with landings and departure at separate airports..Heathrow and the other main one (slips my mind...). That seems like a hassle. Does anyone have suggestions on particular airlines and/or arrival/departure cities in Northern Italy that avoid this? Thank you all for your support! Tom

Try Air Berlin...they have flights out of Venice to Munich, prices vary by date.

Tom, Your best bet is to try and find a flight to Milan / MXP, as it's the best airport for the destinations you'll be visiting. I don't know what flight options are available from your area, but try to find either a direct flight, or one that changes planes in Frankfurt. The name of the other international airport in London is Gatwick. Cheers!
