It will have been a long flight so wondering if we should just get a cab to Airbnb for 25 euros or pick up rental car.? Not sure how long it would take to get car. I think I am leaning toward cab, but asking for anyone who may have done it. We will not be using car for 2 days. I was thinking of just going back to airport on 2nd day to get it. I can get bus back to airport. Thanks all.
How late does car rental agency stay open?
I would not want to drive and deal with finding parking etc after a long tiring flight plus paying for 2 days of unused rental
Can’t you pick up car IN Bari?
I could but it is close to double price. . The rate is quite low and cost of rental car for 2 days is not much. I think I will just want to get there and get outside and go for a cocktail on arrival :) Not mess around for an hour or so and then figure out parking in the dark. I must be getting old!
Where is your AirBnB? If in the city of Bari you need to check the following:
1. The AirBnB is not inside the ZTL (basically the Città Vecchia) where non resident cars are prohibited
2. You have parking arrangements somewhere. Bari is not car parking friendly.
3. You know how to navigate Bari’s street traffic without accidentally entering the ZTL or a bus lane.
I did what you are proposing twice: once I took a taxi back and forth to airport, and the second, we picked up in Bari center, as it is outside the ZTL near train station and we did not find it more expensive (so I would compare).
Thanks. I think I was asking for more of validation than advice. 😊 I’m gonna do the taxi seems much less stressful. Could you share which car company that you used that was similar price because everything I can find is double. I appreciate everybody taking time to answer my questions.
Hertz
You might ask your hotel for a driver rec too, we did that once, but airport taxi was fine also.
Nicolatwig, You’re not getting older— just wiser!
I took a cab, great decision!
