I am looking for a direct flight from Dublin in Florence this winter. Is that possible? Would I be better off to land in a nearby airport and take a train into Florence?
Am not aware of any non-stops between Dublin and Florence, but Ryan Air has some from Dublin to Pisa a couple of times per week. From Pisa airport it's an easy transfer to the train station via their new "People Mover" for the 1 hour regionale into Florence.
Pisa or Bologna with RyanAir.
AirLingus also flies to the above airports in summer, but not in winter.
If you don’t like RyanAir, AirLingus flies daily to Rome Fiumicino, from which you can take a train to Florence and be there in just over 2 hours.
Looking at random dates in January, there are no no-stop DUB-FLR
You can go to Pisa or Bologna and then train to Florence.
The alternative appears to be a one stop flight.
Service ( air) varies by day of the week so you would have to input your specific to see your options.
