Fly to Naples, train to Sorrento

How hard will it be, we are flying in to Naples from Amsterdam. are we able to get a bus to Naples train station from the airport, then train down to Sorrento?

Thanks for any info/advice.

The Alibus can get you between the airport, the train station, and the port with ease. As long as you are ok with lugging your luggage on and off the bus/train, then you should be fine.

No need to head to Naples to the train station. There are buses directly from the airport tp Sorrento. Takes about an hour and a quarter, costs about €10 and you don’t have the hassle of dragging your luggage around the Naples train station.

Are there more than one bus that goes to Sorrento from the Naples airport? I can't seem to see one that leaves later than 7:30 pm which we won't be able to make as our flight is due in at 7 pm.

Month of year is relevant to this question.

Well, we arrived too late (bargain air from London) to transfer to Sorrento, and had a planned night in Naples. This area has limited transportation. Even the Circumvesuviana train doesn't run all night, even in high season with longer daylight.

I have not taken this bus, but I'll note that the Circumvesuviana is famous for being incredibly hot and crowded, if a real bargain. We took the Circumvesuviana once, but decided to use a car & driver transfer back to the Naples rail station from Sorrento. That was also because we thought 15 Euro taxi fare in Sorrento to our hotel was too much for a very short ride.
