I am expecting to be in Italy for about 10 days in 2012, between April 10 and May 3. One person in my group wants to see Rome's Spanish Steps laden with flowers as pictured in art and postcards. Can anyone provide info about the realities and timetable of this beautiful sight?

You can search flickr.com for pictures of the Steps and see what dates they were taken. Good luck.

You are a genius! I found some photos of flowers on the Spanish Steps, dated April 24,25,and 26, 2008. Now everyone who reads this post has the info. Thanks a million.

Aw, shucks. It does surprise me how flickr and other similar sights get overlooked as a travel resource. I've used it to figure out if I want to visit a particular small town or not. If all that are posted are photos of the same fountain in the same piazza over and over, I know that I might want to pass.

Well when I was there (June) I can't recall seeing any flowers because there were mobs and mobs of people!!
