Flowers in Spello

I have seen several pictures of homes in Spello adorned with lots of greenery and flowers. I know there is a flower festival every year in Spello and for several days there are flower carpets in the streets. Unfortunately I won't be there during the festival but I will be there in late summer and am wondering if the homes are adorned with flowers and greenery all year around or just during the annual festival. I'd like to visit Spello and take pictures when in Italy in August but not if the houses aren't like I've seen in the pictures. Hope this make sense. Has anyone visited Spello and if so, can you tell me if the plethora of flowers seen in pictures is typical or not. Thanks so much for your input.

I was in Spello a few years ago in June and many homes still had flowers, but it was not as full a display as during the festival Spello Infiorita.

Many cities celebrate the feast of Corpus Christi with flower festivals, including Orvieto and Spello. Dates vary but usually late May-early June. Google "Infiorta festivals Italy" and several articles come up.

Thanks Carla.! That's exactly what I was hoping to hear.

Zoe, unfortunately I won't be there during the festival but was hoping there would still be a lot of flowers in Aug when I'll be there.
