We are staying in Capanorri and want to visit Florence. We know we can't drive into the ZTL but would like to find parking near a bus or other public transportation. Does anyone know where or how to do this? We are in our late 60's and can't just walk into the city anymore. ;-)

Why not drive over to Lucca, park the car there, and train directly to SMN - thus avoiding going anywhere near the Florence traffic & ZTL's?

Park at Peretola airport and take the T2 tramway.
Or park at the Villa Costanza Parking on the A1 motorway and take the T1 tramway.

Tram ride is around 20 minutes.

Take the A11 all the way and park at the multimodal parking lot called PARCHEGGIO SCAMBIATORE GUIDONI, just past the airport. Take the T2 light rail from there. The T2 stops at the lot.
If you prefer the train al the way, drive to Altopascio and take the train from there. At commute time the train is just as fast.
