Florence Walking Tours/Day Trips

I'll be spending a week in Florence in early October. Would love to hear any recommendations for walking tours (especially a food tour) and your favorite day trip taken with a small group that I can join. Thank you in advance! Heidi

You need to add more info. Have you been to Siena or other nearby town? Are you interested in wine touring? What kind of day trip do you want?

I'm pretty open to anything --- I especially enjoy walking food tours. There seems to be quite a few choices in Florence and would love some assistance in selecting a good one. I'm also considering a walking tour that includes the David and Uffizi by Walks of Italy (anyone know if it's good), I'm also considering a day trip to cinque terra as well as Chianti Safari which is a Tuscany Wine Tour. I'd also love a tour that includes Sienna and Pisa. But again, I'm open to anything if you have another favorite. Thanks so much!

We really enjoyed Eating Europe's walking food tour in Rome, so I'm assuming the quality would be as high in Florence. The tour on the other side of the Arno river looks amazing, and visits some smaller places away from the center, yet within walking distance. https://www.eatingeurope.com/florence/the-other-side-of-florence-food-tour/

Although it doesn't exactly answer your question, thought you might enjoy this thread for budget ideas around Florence -

Not sure if you prefer a group tour, but if you get a bus early to Siena, it's a magical town to just wander, had the center square to ourselves early in the morning before the day trippers arrived!

Some tours I have enjoyed are walking tours from Walks of Italy, we did the one that included the Accadamia. We have also done an all-day Tuscany Tour with Walk About Florence that was super fun, they take you to Sienna, San Gimignano and Pisa and include lunch at an organic winery. For my upcoming trip this month we booked an all-day winery/lunch tour with Prestige Rent, but this company sells out fast so I would book now, as October already has some sold out dates. I got lucky and took the last two spots for my tour and that was about a month ago that I booked.

Another vote for all day Tuscany Tour with Walk About Florence- did in June. Also did the food tour with Eating Europe and it was one of our favorite things in Florence. Another company if you want private walking tour is Walks inside Florence. We did the Sunset Promenade Private Tour. They have several options on their website.
