Florence, waiting for train

I'll have a small group of students in Florence on a Tuesday in March. We will have checked out of our hotel at noon. What can we do in the evening, before our train leaves at 9 pm?

First, you can check your luggage at the staffed luggage storage area in the Florence SMN train station. Second, the train station is a very short distance from many of the historical sites. You can just have lunch and walk around for the afternoon. But I'm sure that you have figured that out. I have no thoughts on the evening hours. Hanging out in the McDonalds across the street isn't a good answer either.

Will you have already visited ALL of the museums? You'd have to check the closing time but the Science Museum is fascinating. At 4pm you could make the climb up to Piazza Michelangelo, then walk farther up the road to San Miniato Church to listen to the monks chant at 5pm. Or make arrangements at a restaurant for a
nice 2 hour meal so the students will be well fed before the train ride.
