Hi - we will be in Italy in Feb spending 5 nights in Venice. We will be flying out of Pisa and I am trying to decide between spending the last night in Florence vs Pisa. Since we have only 1 night, would you recommend staying in Pisa (does anyone know of any good hotels in Pisa?) or staying in Florence and taking a train to Pisa the day of the flight? I will be traveling with my kids who are 10 and 8 years old and we have visited Florence once before. Any suggestions/advice would be appreciated!

What time does your flight depart Pisa? If really early, your choice is clear as you won't make it in time from Florence. If you can make it from Florence, there is a bus that goes from Florence SMN train station to the Pisa airport. The good news is that it departs as early as 3:40am. I would just stay in Pisa as that way you know you'll be close to the airport if there's a train strike, bad weather, etc. You can easily spend some time sightseeing in Pisa if you get in the afternoon prior to your flight.

Our flight out of Pisa is at 3 in the afternoon. We will be leaving Venice the morning of the day before so I am trying to decide where to spend about 24 hours or so. Thanks!
