We are completing the Heart of Italy tour on July 3 and need to meet family in Dublin on July 7. Is the following trip a good one:
Train to Venice stay 3 nights (lodging suggestions?)
Train Venice to Milan stay one night.
Fly to Dublin.
Or we could spend another night in Florence or Milan. We are going to Milan mostly because the flights to Dublin are much cheaper from there. All suggestions are welcome.

Sure, good trip, easy to do. Venice has hundreds of hotel in all price ranges. I've pretty much given up on giving hotel recommendations as everyone has their favorite. I'll just say that in July, anywhere around San Marco and Rialto will be crowded.
