I am flying into Rome for a couple of days and need to hook up with a friend in Florence. I am planning to take the train from Rome to Florence. How do I get from the Florence train station to the airport?

There are buses that go to the Florence airport about twice hourly. A taxi will cost about €25 (maybe a bit more for luggage).

Yes, buses stop at the entrance on the east side of the station. Cabs park around the station corner to your right, on Piazza della statione. There is a shuttle bus to the airport. The website Rome2rio has this information but I don't know if the prices are up-to-date:

We took the bus stop at the train station it was real easy but if you have suitcases that you can't carry on a plane take a taxi

Bus from Santa Maria Novella to the airport is easy to catch and cheap, 6E I think? It has storage for large luggage underneath
