Florence Tours and Classes

Hello All,
I was able to put together four full days in Florence, 7/28-7/31, after a long hut-to-hut Dolomite hike. I know it will be hot and crowded but I don't want to miss the chance to experience this remarkable city. It's on my bucket list.
Can anyone recommend specific tours or tour companies for the major sites? I will be traveling solo.
Also, can anyone recommend any Italian language classes/teachers who work with visiting English speakers? I am studying Italian and love this language. I see my trip as a time to imbibe the beauty of Italian language, culture, and nature.
Grazie to all responders!
Rebekah

Florence is a very walkable city and you can do it on your own, no need for a tour. I have been to Florence twice and did take a short bike tour the second time I was there.

Still, if you do want a tour, consider a walking tour.

Also, the important sites like Accademia and Uffizi Museums should be booked in advance.
The Duomo is a must see, not sure if you have to book in advance now, didn't in 1990.

We used WalkAboutFlorence for 2 amazing day trips - we loved the BEST OF TUSCANY and CHIANTI WINE & FOOD SAFARI tours.

You can read about them on TripAdvisor, but def book thru WalkAboutFlorence official site.

We love to hire a private guide for the big stuff, but it certainly isn't necessary. Don't miss the cathedrals, the DAVID, Uffizi.

Free Tours by Locals also does a great walking tour.

For language classes, my husband has been very happy with the Istituto Michelangelo near Santa Croce --- he's taken both morning and afternoon classes for 4 weeks a few years ago and is about to sign up with them again for another 3 or 4 weeks in November. They also offered some extras, like an evening visit to see the David.

I just looked and they also do art history classes: https://www.michelangelo-edu.it/italian-language-school/italian-language-art-history-courses.htm

Check out the walking tours given by the British Institute --- I've done those and also taken many of their art history classes.
