Hi. After days on Florence I would like to see venice and Bologna before flying out of Milan on an am flight
It seems the Bologna to Milan train is shorter and therefore easier than navigating out of Venice
Would Florence to Venice for two nights
Then Venice to Bologna two nights wth a day trip maybe to Parma/ Modena be good
Then am Monday train to Milan for a day/night before Tuesday train?

The travel time from Bologna to Milan is indeed shorter, but the overall travel time ( and expense) is less if you stop in Bologna first. The train from Florence goes right through Bologna. And there are direct trains from Venice to Milan that do not go back through Bologna.

Fly out of Milan 10:30 Am Tuesday 15th
If this is your plan, you need to be in Milan, or at a close to the airport hotel, on Monday night. If your flight goes to a Schengen destination you need to be at MXP by 0830-0900.. If flight goes to a non-Schengen destination 0730 is the recommended arrival at airport time.
