Finishing up trip in Florence, would love to see some of the Alps, stay for 1-2 days then have to fly home to Florida. Any suggestions as cute town, view of Alps, mountain trolley> Bernina Express?

Where are you flying home from? This would make a lot more sense if you flew home from Zürich, then you wouldn't have to double back.
I would suggest Luzern You can get there by train from Florence via Milan. Look up times on https://www.sbb.ch/en
And you can get from Luzern to Zürich airport by train in 70 mins.

The Bernina route is the only one of the rail 3 routes across the Alps in Switzerland that goes over the top, the other 2 go through long tunnels. It is a normal train route with one train every hour.
You could go from Florence via Milan and the Bernina route to Luzern, but it would take 11h25, versus 5h41 by the direct Gotthard tunnel route.

Well if you do not want to spend hours on the train you could fly Florence to Zurich and then take train to Luzern.
