We will be driving from Florence to Sienna. I’d like to know whether the road is fully paved, as some photos I see on the internet seem otherwise. Also, does anyone know how long it takes to make the trip from Florence to Siena, without stops?
Yes it is all paved, takes about an hour
You can use Google Maps to research the route
Thanks, I look forward to it.
it is a good road
It’s paved, but one hour is not enough, even if you don’t make any stops.

If at all possible, plan at least half a day. Yes, the SR222 is lovely, but the real charm is the villages and other sites along the way. There's much to explore. Rural Tuscany is not like Florence and Siena. Avail yourself of the opportunity to explore.
It has been awhile but drive seemed easy and about 1 hour 15. We stayed at Palazzo Ravisa on heart of Siena if still there. Beyond lovely!
We’re booked there thanks to Rick Steve’s recommendation! Glad to hear that you liked it.
