Florence to Siena via Bus - Help!

Hi.
How do I get from Florence to Siena via bus? Is there a website? Bus pickup location in Florence, time the last bus leaves Siena, etc.

Looking to do a day trip to Siena from Florence….

Or maybe I’ll just hire a car service….

There is a bus station next to the train station, Santa Maria Novella. There was at least one bus to Siena every hour. We just walked into the bus station and purchased a ticket.

I would imagine you could also use FLIX. In fact, we used FLIX from Siena to Rome. For FLIX, you can purchase from their website. FLIX buses are very comfortable.

You are smart to use the bus between Florence and Siena. Siena is on a hill. The train station is below the hill, the buses let folks off on top very close to the Campo.

Actually, if you get the Rick Steves Italy Guide, he explains how to get between Florence and Siena.

Yes. The info is on page 634 of the 27th edition of Rick's Italy book. He doesn't mention that Flixbus goes to Florence from Siena. He does mention Autolinee Toscane (AT) buses between the two cities.

Hi April,

I will explain the steps to find out instead of just giving you the name, so it’s helpful. Go to www.rome2rio.com. Enter Florence and Siena for to/from. It will give you options for transportation. One is “bus”. It shows 1 hr. 15 minutes.

If you click on bus, the options show up. One is the Autolinee Toscane - Linee Regionali which has Bus # 131 and 131R listed. Rome2rio also shows a map. Focus in on the starting point, and you can see it is very close to the main Florence train station - just around the corner.

Hope that helps! No need for a car service.

Update: I see three of us were typing at the same time - LOL!
