I have tried to figure out a bus schedule from Florence to Siena on the site www.sienamobilita.it according to Rick Steves' Italy guidebook. I can't switch to English, and I keep getting a thing from MyTransitGuide which asks me to download software, etc. Is there a simple way to handle this?
At http://www.tiemmespa.it/index.php/Viaggia-con-noi/Orari-e-linee/Siena/Extraurbano, click the small "Mostra Altri" button to "show others," then click the links for various directions of line 131.
OK. I got the schedule. I am assuming NoSa means the bus does not run on Saturdays. Is that right? I am taking this trip on a Saturday. Now I want to purchase my tickets online. But I went to http://www.tiemmespa.it/index.php and found no instructions in English. Is there another little button to get instructions in English? Thank you. You have been very helpful so far.
Good luck on your bus trip. I took that ride many years ago. When you leave Florence, you climb high above a valley to the right (west). Keep watching down there and you will see the Florence American Cemetery. Over 4000 American soldiers lie there, killed on the battlefields of northern Italy. I remember recognizing what it was, and wanting to scream out at the driver to stop the bus and let me and my luggage off, so I could walk down there. But I didn't. HOWEVER, I am leaving for Italy in three weeks, and that same cemetery is on my itinerary. At last!!! Good luck to you.
The bus you want is the 131R. Buy your tickets at the bus station the day before you plan to go.
Trip is about 1:17.
Thank you, all. I will take your advice and buy the tickets at the autostazzione (I learned that is the bus station) the day before our departure. Because the tiemmespa.it website is not posted in English, I don't feel comfortable making financial transactions in a language I don't understand.
