Florence to Riccia...best way

Hello all...I will be in Florence next spring and wish to get to Riccia to see the village for one day, then off to the Cinque Terre. I know this is very difficult but it will be worth it to me. Any ideas?

You want to make a day trip that's three hundred miles each way?

It might not be possible without renting a car and driving a lot of it in darkness.

Anyway, by public transportation, it's going to be trains to Campobasso and a bus the last little bit. I've no idea how long it would take -- maybe eight hours each way?

Rome2rio.com is an excellent resource for these types of questions. See Florence to Riccia here.

You'll see that the best way to do it is probably by train, and it would take 6 1/2 hours. Then to go from Riccia to, say, Vernazza in the CT would take 10 hours. I'm guessing you didn't realize the distances. Is there anyway you can rearrange your itinerary so Riccia comes in a more logical sequence than between Florence and the CT?

I appreciate the help. I cannot rearrange the trip at all. We are doing a tour that ends in Florence then we have a few days set aside and wanted to work this in between. I can leave Florence at 8am Saturday and need to be in CT Sunday evening. Sounds like this May impossible. Sigh.

On the plus side, this gives you another reason to go back. (^_^)

Can you go to Riccia and then spend Saturday night in Campobasso, then continue to Cinque Terre on Sunday? Is there transportation available on Sunday?
