Florence to Pisa, Cinque Terre, and Carrara Quarries in 1 day??!!

I am in Florence and am thinking of driving to Pisa, Cinque Terre and the Cararra marble quarries ... is that doable? or crazy? Any tips from someone who can give me some good suggestions? Thank you!

All three in one day? Crazy. Try it and see how far you get. You might be able to drive slow past the Field of Miracles in Pisa to get a snapshot of the Tower through your car window before driving on...

Frankly, to propose driving to Cinque Terre shows you haven't sufficiently informed yourself.

Yep, I'm with Mike and Andrew. Trying to do all three in one day is nuts. Just the CT is a multi-night stay to do any justice to, and a car is a liability there. Oh, and I wouldn't short time in Florence to do the CT, Carrera or Pisa as a day trip.

CT is better to be seen through trekking or even better sailing. I would dedicate two-three days depending on your time of arrival.

Florence needs a full day for just a glimpse, three days for getting an idea of what it represents, two months to know it superficially well and a lifetime to know itโ€™s history, streets, buildings, sculptures, paintings, great men.

google maps indicates the r/t to hit all your destinations would be 5 hrs 'without traffic'

adding some fudge factor for google's optimism and finding parking, getting to/from car etc you have 7-8 hrs just traveling, before you get around to 'seeing' things.

If you have only one day to allocate, you will have to 'pick one', or just run yourself ragged trying to violate the laws of physics which dictate you can be in only one place at any given moment.

Michelle, you got lots of good advice to your previous queries about visiting Pisa, Lucca, and the Carrara quarries when you posted questions about them several weeks ago. If you look back at those previous threads, you'll get some good information that is still relevant.

A few years ago, my husband and I were staying in Lucca. We took an early train to Pisa, walked to the Leaning Tower, etc... Back to the train station, then took the train to Riomaggiore. We grabbed a quick bite for lunch then hiked/ walked to Vernazza (where we ran out of steam). Grabbed the train there back to Lucca and sat down for dinner in Lucca around 21:00. We didn't rush and took a bunch of pictures but we were exhausted.
