Hello! We will be visiting Florence and Milan. One of our party wants to visit the Ferrari museum in Maranello and do the bus tour of the factory. Does it make sense to do this on the day we leave Florence (train from Florence to Modena, visit the museum and factory, train to Milan)? And should we plan to buy our train tickets in advance?
Thank you!
While you can do Florence to Milan in two hours with a fast train, if you want to break the trip at Modena you will have to change trains in Bologna (leave enough time as the station layout is confusing), and also the service from Modena to Milano has a few fast trains but most are on the slow side. So the thing is possible but going directly to Milan is much easier.
Maranello is not near the Modena train station. The Ferrari museum is near it the factory is in the town not served by the train.
