What bus would we take to get from the center of Florence to Castillo di Verrazzano?
Is it safe to walk the 2 km from the bus stop to the castle?
How long does the bus take to get there?
Thank you very much!

You would take the 365A from the Leopolda Station (I think). It’s about one hour ride. It’s safe to walk, but it’s a long driveway to walk.

I agree with Roberto. Contact your hosts and see if you can make arrangements to have a car pick you up in Greve and drive you to Verrazzano. You check in next to the road, then there's a pretty good walk up to the guest accommodations. From there, it's another good hike up a fairly steep drive to the winery itself.
The bus is easy, you'll need to check the schedule. The Greve bus stop is convenient to town. We took a day trip from Verrazzano to Florence, parking in the free public parking in Greve. We returned about 8:30 that evening.
We had a great stay at Verrazzano. Be sure to sign up for either their lunch or dinner food and wine tasting. It's amazing! We were there in December 2015 and for most of our stay we were the only guests. Marco doted on us at breakfast every morning. He taught us a little Italian and practiced his English with us. By the end of our stay we were like family with Marco and Isabella.
Marco wanted to know our plans for the day and gave us helpful tips. We planned to visit the Abbey of Monte Oliveto Maggiore, including staying for evening prayers, which are celebrated with Gregorian chant. We told Marco and he mapped out the route, sharing with us his love for Gregorian chant. We had a moving experience at evening prayer and picked up a CD in the abbey gift shop for Marco. The next morning we gave him his Christmas present. Tears welled up and he said: "Excuse me for a moment." He came back with a small bottle of honey produced at the winery and presented it to us, along with generous Italian hugs. While we love seeing the sites, this is the kind of experience that motivates us to travel.
make sure you do the wine/lunch/tour. We did it 2001 and again in 2014. The tour, food, wine was all wonderful.
