My husband and I are traveling next mth from Florence to Rome with an overnight at Borgo San Felice. Neither of us have ever traveled to Italy, so we would love to see the countryside. But wondering what the best route of transportation will be. If you recommend a car...what station to pick up in Florence and where to drop off for Rome.
We are also not adverse to combining transportation options either.

Most rental car companies in Florence have locations on Borgo Ognisanti. It is easy to access the Autostrada from there. Drop the car of at FCO or in a city center location in Rome if you feel comfortable doing that.
Or drop off car in Chiusi or Orvieto and take train into Rome city center.
Borgo San Felice is a high end property. I imagine they must have suggestions on the best way to get there or can recommend driver services from Florence as well. Enjoy your trip.
