We are planning to travel from Florence to Aix-en-Provence by train. How long will that take and what would be some good places to stop on the way? We have been to Nice and Genoa before and would like to stop in some more lesser known places.

Andrew, fastest runs take 11+ hours with 3-4 train changes. Routing is Florence/Milan/Ventimiglia and finally Aix. Monaco, Cannes and Avignon TGV are stops along the way.
