I’m leaving Oltrarno neighborhood for 11:30 train tomorrow. Airbnb host says there’s a taxi shortage such that I cannot call to order taxi in advance. I’d rather not carry my bags for 30 mins in record heat 🥵. Any suggestions for finding a taxi? Nearby taxi stand?
TIA
Is taking a city bus a possibility?
We left Florence last Tuesday. We were also staying in the Oltrarno neighborhood. When I called to order a taxi the day before I was told that I could only call 15 minutes in advance. We were on a very small street and walked to a nearby intersection, called the taxi and it arrived within 5 minutes. Just leave yourself some extra time.
Ordered a taxi this morning from my hotel and it arrived in 3 minutes. I’ve taken multiple taxis in Florence in the past 3 weeks and never had to wait longer than 3 to 5 minutes.
If you tell me your exact location I can tell you the closest taxi stand, but I don’t think it’s necessary. It’s 38C today, who would want to carry suitcases in that heat?
Thanks! I’ll just call in the a.m. an hour before my train. That should give me some padding
