A couple of questions: 1. My hotel in Florence informed me that Florence, like Rome, is now adding a new room tax--one euro per person per night, cash only. I was wondering if anyone had heard about or experienced this recently. 2. I want to reserve the Borghese for October 1, but have been told by the official site that they won't take reservations until the first week of Sept. for Oct. 1. My question is this: when reserving online, can you reserve the 'reduced' price if you intend to use the Roma Pass? I will have the pass, but will have already used the two freebies before heading to the Borghese.
Grazie mille!!
If you are using the romapass for free or reduced entry you are asked to call them instead of booking online. Roma Pass and Roma Pass+ are accepted at Borghese Gallery and Museum.
Clients holding a Romapass card are invited to just reserve admission calling +390632810. Donna
Tourist tax Florence. (Officially known as the City Tax but it's only applicable to people who stay the night at a hotel so tourist tax is more appropriate). It will be one Euro per star, per person, per night...meaning that if you stay in a four star hotel with your partner for three nights it will cost...4x2(people)x3(nights) = 24 Euro (This is a new tax on top of any other sales tax etc that you would already be paying). There is no way round it other than to stay outside the city in Tuscany, which would not be such a bad experience.
