Some of the best I've ever heard , they play in the best tradition of Stephane Grappelli and Django Reinhardt . Look for them if you visit Florence - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YjNQuWOdhKg
This is true
Oh my gosh, Steven!! We ran into this wonderful group - "Romdraculas" is their name - playing in Piazza della Repubblica one night, a couple of years before this video was made, and had ourselves a lil' cut of the rug right there with some other jazz fans. We also bought their CD, "Firenze-Italia".
Big fans of Stephane Grappelli too: finding his resting place in Père-Lachaise (Paris) was a mission of mine.
Thank you for reviving a favorite memory! :O)
Kathy , We first heard them in 2012 , on our first visit to Florence . I couldn't tear myself away , and bought a few of the CD's . I can't resist this - A young man encountering them by the Duomo , sat in with them ( or I should say , stood , since he plays Bass ) for " Autumn Leaves " - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7t3xBqAWLaU&list=RD7t3xBqAWLaU&index=1 PS , Also notice the three string Bass !
On a side note :) On our 2015 trip, I noticed a particular street musician in Florence, and the two days later saw him doing the same routine in Venice. Regards
