Check out Hotel California -- yep, that's the name. Very nice place and one can walk to anywhere from there.

We just stayed at Hotel Pendini in June for 3 nights. Great air conditioning!! Central to everything and breakfast was excellent.

We stayed at https://www.hoteldavanzati.it/ last July. i found it in RS. As long as you can do stairs it was perfect for us. Friendly, English speaking staff. Breakfast and happy hour. Great rate.

when in september? it's high season with so many people traveling and you're late in booking, don't know what "decent prices" mean, would help if you let forum know in euros and how many days. what other amenities do you want:
A/C, beds (twins or doubles), steps/stairs (lift/elevator), cancellation policies, breakfast.
look at booking.com. see what's left even if slim pickens, email hotel or book on site. i would get to it ASAP.
many people have had hard time finding rooms, prices have gone up big time and haven't gotten everything they were hoping for, just happy to find a room. good luck
