Florence stay

Hi, I am looking for a place to rent for the month of July. My daughter will be taking a class in the Oltrarno (San Spirito) area and I need help to find a place for us to stay. I've checked VRBO already, but they are hotel-night-stay prices. Also, checked Rick Steve's and Let's Go Europe suggestions, but they are too expensive for staying long term. Any suggestions or information would be greatly appreciated.

If you'll Google "Tuscan villas", you should receive a long list of sources of accommodations in all price ranges.

Hi Carly, Take a look @ the Airbnb website. They have some decent prices on rentals by the month in Florence. Some posters on this forum have recommended them and I've found that the support system for this site is really responsive and timely. We booked 3 nights in an apt. Sicily using this site. Hope that this helps. Sherry

HI Carly - Check out http://www.florenceapartmentitaly.com/. I too am taking classes Sept-Nov in Florence and just booked a flat through this site. It was recommended by the school and the prices start as low as 750Euro per month. I don't have first-hand knowledge of the units themselves, but I have been working closely with Marcello to secure my unit and he's been very responsive and helpful. Ciao!

Here are two possibilities: www.florenceandtuscany.com run by a woman named Barbara I believe - you can browse online, but I recommend sending an email with your requirements and asking her for recommendations www.homeholidays.co.uk Similar to homeaway and vrbo, but has different listings. It may be difficult as many places are booked long in advance. I suggest you be flexible in your search as regards location. Central Florence is quite walkable. The Oltrarno is a nice neighbourhood, but don't limit your search to that neighbourhood. You can walk there easily from much of central Florence.

Thank you everyone for your responses. You all have given me very viable options and resources. The San Spirito options were very nice as that is the neighborhood that we need to stay in. Thank you, again.
