Florence St. Mark's Opera perfomance

We are spending 4 days in and around Florence in mid-October. In searching for evening activities, there are musical events (e.g. opera in concert form) listed at the St. Mark's Anglican Church. Are these so popular that it's necessary to purchase advance tickets on-line, or are tickets usually available on the day of performance? Thanks for any help.

If this falls through, whatever you do, don't end up at an opera in the auditorium at the Best Western instead. It was as if a high school was putting on an opera. Awful. (I say that as a regular operagoer, but everyone seemed bored too.) That being said, something put on by a church should be good, but caveat emptor if you are an opera buff at all. I was naive and didn't know about Trip Advisor yet. I assumed all Italian opera would be good!

Thanks - Opera in concert form is not my favorite. On-line charges for this church performance is $41 per person. I think waiting may be a better plan.

If you look on Tripadvisor, it gets pretty good reviews. Just a little info based upon our experience this past June at an opera at St. Mark's in Florence. The church is rather small and seating seemed limited. They had placed names on the reserved seats, and almost all seats appeared to have name tags on them. I cannot predict what it would look like in October. Does not appear as if you are aching to do it, so maybe waiting once there would be a good idea.
