Kind of a goofy itinerary forged by meetings my dear husband need to attend.
Arriving in Rome taking the Leonardo to Termini getting a train to Florence spending three nights at the Convent Nome Jesu in the Oltrarno area.
Day four leaving for two days in Siena via bus.
Back to Florence for three more days staying either at another convent or the Hotel Dali (has anyone here stayed at the Dali?)
Leaving Florence for over night in Orvieto B and B Valentina
Leaving Orvieto for the final six days in Rome.
OK some my questions. Is there a bus from Siena to Greve? Is Greve even doable without a car?
I'm looking at some half day winery tours in Chianti the come out of Florence--- are there any you'd recommend? Is there a bus to Greve from Florence?
This will be our second trip to Florence so we've seen some of the typical tourist sites. I'd love to do a half day cooking class but the ones I've seen so far are out of my range. Any ideas about more budget priced cooking schools/lessons?
Any "must sees" in Orvieto?
Is there any way to find Mass times for churches in Florence and Rome? Particularly Mass on the Main altar in the duomo of Florence and the Medici chapels?
Do the busses run from Siena to Florence on Saturday?
Is there an English language version of the train schedule for Rome/Florence?
How necessary is it to have a reserved seat on the trains?
Any help will be most gratefully accepted.
