I am having trouble deciphering the bus schedules to Siena from florence. I looked at the website: https://www.tiemmespa.it/?utm_source=discovertuscany.com&utm_campaign=DiscoverTuscany&utm_medium=referral&utm_content=%2Fsiena%2Ftourist-info%2Fgetting-to-siena-without-a-car.html , but in the drop down it does not appear to have florence. Which one do you choose if you want to purchase a ticket from Florence to Siena and then back later in the evening. I understand the bus station is near the train station, but am unclear of the name. Thanks for any guidance.
Gail: Thanks so much for this detailed info. I have learned about the validation and have that in mind, just couldn't see the schedules. I think i finally got it from your link. Thanks so much!
Thanks, Gail, so much for sharing all of these details about the ticket -- especially to fold it lengthwise and stamp it in the machine. I took this 131R bus from Florence to Siena today and was extra careful about stamping the ticket.
Two ticket controllers entered the bus once it reached Siena and very carefully checked that the ticket was stamped. There were a couple people who hadn't done it and got fined on the spot -- just like the blogger in the link you shared. I was really surprised because it was a cold day in early February and there were only about 10 people total on the bus. Maybe they do it consistently on this bus?
