Florence/Siena

In Florence for 2 full days. . .should we use one of them to go to Siena?

Not enough time, there is plenty to do in Florence.

Suggestion:
Go to Piazza Michelangelo and the Basilica of San Miniato on Monte alle Croci on foot or by bus.
The Piazza itself overlooks one of the most famous and magnificent city views in the world: from here you can see the whole of Florence at a glance; there is also copy of David.

Afternoon trip to Fiesole, bus no.7 from Santa Maria Novella. Panoramic view over Florence (Via di San Francesco), Good ice-cream (Via Gramci 8).

Hope it helps.

Kasey,
I agree with Mario. Save Siena for the next trip.
Florence deserves the full 2 days.

Spend the 2 days in Florence otherwise you will feel you haven't seen either place. You will easily fill 2 days in Florence. I did a day trip to Siena and although it was good I felt I only scratched the surface. It's always been on my list to return to which I will do this May.

as others have already said, definitely stay in Florence. it has everything: museums, shopping, great food, people watching. you'll love it and won't want to leave. reserve tickets far in advance for Uffizi, and for Accademia (David) if possible. remember to bargain at the markets. 2 of the best are the San Lorenzo market and another near Piazza della Repubblica. watch "room with a view" before you go! buon viaggio!
