Florence Sandwich - I've changed my mind!

First time to Florence six years ago we stayed literally across the street from All' Antico Vinaio. I loved their sandwiches and could not wait to return. I've been racing to friend about them since. Yesterday we visited again and it was wonderful.

Until... Today we had lunch at Pino's Sandwiches, which is near San Croce...

And I've changed my tune. Pino's is unbelievable. I've never seen anyone show such care in making a sandwich. Every single slice of meat and cheese was placed on our sandwiches with great care and love. It's impossible to describe but when you see it, it's incredible. The flavors were amazing and service was too notch. Plus plenty of seating.

So anyone headed to Florence, when you see the long lines on Via del Neri, keep going. Better sandwiches await.

If a simple sandwich can light your fire, I can only guess what a five-course meal with appropriate wines would do for you.

I have been following Pino on instagram for about a year now and I am so excited to visit this shop when I am in Florence in a few weeks. Its so nice to see that its good in person and not just on Instagram!

I feel the same way about Sandwichic, on Via S. Gallo.
That was the first meal I ever had in Florence and we liked it so much, we returned for lunch again before we departed the city.
The next time I visited Florence, we did the same thing.

It's just so good!

Will have to try. I felt like All’Antico was wildly overrated and the service was very subpar, but understandable given the lines.

Always appreciate a good recommendation!

What's wrong with a sandwich? I appreciate recommendations such as these. Not everyone wants "a five-course meal."

Traveling with two teens i can't afford a five course meal every night. That said, tonight we did Florentine steak on Via dei Neri 72r at la Fettunta. 42 euro a kilo. Appetizer of deli meats and cheeses, two pastas (outstanding on their own) two sides and a decent size steak... More than enough for us. Probably could have done without one pasta. Plus drinks. Total was 125 euro. Also highly recommended.

Ham and Swiss is just a sandwich. Pino's is really something else. I know it sounds crazy. Go there and you'll get it.
