Florence Restaurants

We are taking our first trip to Florence in two weeks. We are staying at the Glance Hotel so near Central Market and definitely plan on eating there a time or two. We have some lunch spots in mind such as I Fratellini, Ino Sandwich shop, EATaly, and Simbiosi Organic Pizza.

We definitely need help with dinner. I'm not a huge traditional Italian food person myself and we don't have interest in the Florentine steak. We would like a recommendation on a restaurant that serves good Carbonara and maybe a good pizza place. We aren't looking for something really upscale or fancy just some good food that we can enjoy. My wife would also love a good place for Charcuterie boards and plenty of good wine.

Have you looked thru the Italy site about Florence restaurants? You can search the list. This question comes up repeatedly.

Trattoria Giovanni (Oltrarno) - simple, traditional Tuscan, delicious pasta
Sophia Loren Restaurant (Piazza della Repubblica) - more upscale interior or tables under the arcade, focus is Southern Italian food, which is nice to get a taste of if you won't be visiting that region
Le Volpi e L'Uva (Oltrarno) - wine bar in a small courtyard just off the Ponte Vecchio, friendly staff, extensive wine list, lots of charcuterie/cheese boards. Go early or reserve in advance because they do get busy.
Tamerò (Oltrarno) - excellent pizza and pasta
Gustapizza (Oltrarno) - pizza to-go

If you're not a big traditional Italian food person, the Mercato Centrale has all sorts of different options, from burgers to sushi, so you can get a break if you need it. Have a great trip!

For good but no frills I’d go to Yellow Bar we visited a few times our last trip it’s near the duomo we were super disappointed in the food at the market I would pass on that with so many other amazing choices close by
