Florence Restaurant on Easter for a Solo Traveller

Hello, all! So I'll be in Florence for Easter this year...first time to Europe. I'm travelling solo. Does anyone recommend a restaurant for Easter lunch/dinner? Should I also make a reservation? If so, how far in advance should I make the reservation?

You guys are the best! Thanks in advance for all of the great comments.

My first thought is to contact your hotel for a recommendation, they may be able to make a reservation for you.

Thanks. I was just hoping for some suggestions before I arrived. I'm sure people have some favorite restaurants they'd recommend.

Ciccalone is my favorite restaurant in Florence! Get the burrata, the steak, and the tiramisu!

Oh my God, I cannot imagine getting a bistecca fiorentina for one person!

I know it's a sin to say this but the Florentine steak is something I'll never eat. Raw meat disgusts me. My steak has to be black inside not red or blue. And for one person I'll definitely forego the steak. But thanks for the restaurant. I'm looking it up now!

Eve, I don't think it's a sin at all. I prefer meat well done, in Italian "ben cotto".

I think restaurants that normally open every day are the best bet. Those that close one day per week usually closer either Sunday or Monday. I've had good meals at ristorantegigliorosso.com, which I believe is open daily. They take reservations online. It's not in Rick's book but is operated by the same family as the Hotel Accademia.

I highly recommend "The Golden View" restaurant. It is located on the Arno River and has a great view of the Ponte Vecchio Bridge. If you do a search on Google, you will see lots of positive reviews. Reservations are required for dinner unless you plan on eating around 6:00 pm.

I always go to IL Brincello at 110r Via Nazionale, 50100 Firenze, not too far from SMN train station, family owned and run, the manager is the waiter and also directs the kitchen from the floor, open 12-3 pm, then 7-11 pm, i just walk in, never made a reservation, I usually go at lunch but have been there at night with family and sat through five different seatings, people just wait outside on the sidewalk, food is really good, best Gnocchi outside of mine, BTW, they've never served me steak though, LOL, because they know I won't finish it, so they tell me and I've never insisted, but there's plenty of yummy items on their menu! Small and cozy place, friendly, nice neighborhood, busy, lots of locals and visitors around!

Thanks Yosemite1 and Sandra. I think The Golden View looks perfect! If not for Easter, definitely for one of the nights I'm in Florence!

Reserve right now. It is already very very late. In order to get three places at a restaurant we fancy (in this case Bibe, that is on the outskirts and can be reached only with a car) we reserved three weeks ago. A few days ago we called again and we asked if we could go with five persons instead and it took a while to convince them.

Last Easter we ate at Lob's Fish and were very happy! We had a res, and went early due to train departure we needed to make at 15:00. They were no terribly busy at 12:30, so perhaps go early for lunch before the crowds.
