Florence Rentals

We are married seniors who work virtually and will be traveling throughout Europe for 6 months, staying in Florence from Sept. 1-Oct. 25 and are looking for an apartment near city center, has high speed Wi-Fi,, no pets as my wife has environmental allergies. Our budget for the entire stay is around $2,500. If you know of any apartments or real estate agents, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

We have used Sabbatical Homes in Italy with success. Furnished, longer term rentals. The link I posted is the current batch for Florence. Worth a look as the budget is low for standard tourist rentals like VRBO.

Excellent real estate company www.chianti-and-more.com Karen Dietz. We rented a villa from her, reliable, quality, answers emails quickly and knows her properties well. She also has apartments in Florence. Good luck. Your trip sounds amazing!

6 months in Europe? Are you aware that the Schengen Agreement limits stays to 90 days out of a 180 day period without obtaining a Visa. And getting a visa is often impossible unless you're a college student. Most married seniors are not students.
You'd think the European countries don't want North Americans coming over there and staying long enough to use their universal healthcare. And they probably think the price of housing would go out of sight if "foreigners" with fat pocketbooks were allowed to move there long term--as if big European city housing is even affordable now.

Thank you David. It is our intention to go to non Shengan countries for part of our time and hopefully address this restriction. If you have other insight into this matter, it would be greatly appreciated.

Just remember that the 90th day counts. I plan 89 days in Schengen.
