In October there will be 9 of us (all adults) staying in a villa outside Florence. We will have a rental car or two, but may, on occasion, wish to hire a driver with a passenger van for some excursions. (Particularly we are thinking about the day we will go to Volterra for a morning tour and afternoon wine tasting followed by dinner.) Does anyone have recommendations for this service? I've always gotten excellent advice through this forum and appreciate the collected wisdom that I am able to tap from time to time! Many thanks!

If you are staying in a villa in the countryside and have cars, why hire a driver? You can travel to places yourself. Volterra isn't far.
For 9 adults you will need at least 2 cars, because a van may not have enough place for everybody's luggage. Negotiating a van in some of the narrow streets in Tuscany would be a challenge too. Generally a van is also much more expensive to rent. Renting a van costs as much as 3 economy cars or 2 mid size cars.
