any suggestions for a place central in Florence, near the Duomo for a couple of nights. Pension or small charming b&b or hotel. We are traveling the end of May - 2 of us. I have not been there for over 20 years so I am way out of touch. thanks, Kim

we stayed at a lovely hotel near the duomo called Il Guelfo Bianco. Check it out. I don't know what your budget is, but this place was amazing! And the little bistro downstairs was really fun and had great food.

Kiki - that is great advice. thank you. I just booked a superior room at Il Guelto Bianco, with a pretty good rate, and they are getting us tickets for museums. You just saved me going through tripadvisor all night...thank you! It sounds perfect for us. Thank you again! Kim from San Francisco

Kim, I stayed at the hotel Albergo Firenze and enjoyed my stay there. It is very centrally located, just off of Via del Corso. The Duomo only a few blocks away in one direction, and the Piazza della Signoria only a few blocks the other way. The rooms were modern, clean and well kept. The service was great and the price was reasonable.

On our last trip to Florence we stayed at Albergo Firenze. It was a RS recommendation. The location was central. The accommodations were as expected, clean and comfortable. The price was reasonable. Highly recommend.
